The largest contingent of competitors came from the San Diego Rowing Club and Long Beach Rowing Association. Local competitors included the Los Angeles Rowing Club and scullers from the California Yacht Club.
Spectators and competitors both enjoyed the jungle-themed decorations, DJ, and free BBQ which added to the fun-filled atmosphere.
Behind the scenes, Lions Rowing Club volunteers worked to keep all events on schedule, referee the races, cook up the burgers, and check-in boats. Results were quickly calculated and posted by the hard work of many hands.
WinTech Racing supplied boats for rental at the regatta which was a great luxury for many competitors who were coming from as far as Tempe, Arizona and Northern California who didn't have to bring a trailer with them.
The LionsRC coaching staff was very pleased with the turn-out and success of the day and is looking to host another event in June of 2006.
