Melanie Salter comes to the Lions Rowing Club with over 10 years of experience rowing and coaching in Marina del Rey. Melanie first learned to row as a freshman in high school with the Marina Aquatic Center junior rowing team. One of the MAC's top athletes, Salter earned a spot on the team at the University of California, Los Angeles where she continued to row throughout her collegiate career. Melanie sat in UCLA's JV eight that placed second at the 2005 Pac-10 Championships. She graduated from UCLA in '05 with a BA in history, and was named to the 2005 Pac-10 All-Academic team.
Along with her duties with the Lions Rowing Club, Melanie coaches the novice women at the Marina Aquatic Center and is employed at the Mirman School in Los Angeles. She is currently pursing a Masters Degree in Secondary Education as well as a Teaching Credential with an emphasis in Social Sciences.
